Is my son half cat? or what's wrong with this picture

This is what I found Sunday morning after Abigail's haircut was cleaned up. Not typical of Andrew and would usually make me worry that something worse is around the corner involving bodily functions but he had Andrew Ingram over the night before and was recovering I guess? Any way it was a funny picture, him curled up on the floor in the sun.

Hair Cut for Abigail

We finally did it! Abigail has been asking me and asking me to cut her hair and on Sunday morning. we did it (aka mom ran out of excuses and couldn't think of anything else to say). She loves it and said to me this morning "Mom, my hair is going to be easy to brush this morning". Now that is music to my ears!

Attack of the Kool-aid

Right after we took those lovely pictures it was time to fix dinner. I put Pearl down on the floor to play with toys and started to set the table. We were just sitting down to eat when Pearl made a choking noise and we all stopped in our tracks to listen. After two seconds she made a "ba ba ba" talking noise so we all went about what we were doing thinking that she just gagged herself with her finger. A little into dinner she screamed and Andrew went to go get her even though I was protesting him leaving the table after one cry. As soon as he got over to where she was he started yelling "mommy, mommy, mommy" which made me run. Pearl had gotten a hold of a packet of Kool-aid, thanks to her helpful brother Foster, who had 10 minutes before been following me around begging that we have Kool-aid for dinner. After he got tired of mom saying no I guess he put the packet down on the coffee table and Pearl grabbed it off there. It scared Andrew half to death to see her covered in red "blood" (well what he thought was blood anyway). The problem was that as I tried to wash her off the Kool-aid powder spread all over staining as it went. Andrew grabbed the camera but didn't have it in auto mode because I had left it in another mode to take pictures of Pearl seen below. She looked funny for a while stained in Kool-aid, but luckily things are back to normal. Hopefully helpful brothers will not find the Kool-aid again, and mommies will put them one shelf higher.

Just shooting the breeze

So Pearl was acting silly and with the help of Andrew we took some pictures. I can't believe that she is eight months old already going on nine. She is our first go getter. She will immediately crawl to something to climb up on and cry because she is stuck there or fall over and scream. I'm not sure if I am ready for all of this so soon. All the other kids didn't think about walking until they were at least over a year old.
Little did we know what was to happen next...

Three Toofins

Pearl has been so cranky lately and now I finally found out why. She now has three teeth! Last night she was leaning back on my lap crying and I had a good view of her top gum. I couldn't believe that she had both top teeth and one lateral incisor edge through. She is popping out teeth everywhere, that is a total of 5 teeth in that girl's mouth. No wonder she was cranky! I would be too!

This is how you know that you have been watching too many versions of "Alice in Wonderland"

Yesterday Foster informed me that he was going to play in the snow. Amused I asked him where and he said he was going to crawl through a hole. I left it at that until later in the evening when he was asking me for a screw driver and then red flags went flying. We have a water wall in our pantry that has an acess hole to get to pipes or drains that we need. This is covered by a plate and a screw and is what Foster wanted to crawl into. Ryan thought it was cute and decided to go along with it and take the covering off to show him the hole in the wall, thinking that would be the end of it. To say the least he was wrong! This is how I remember the conversation went:

Foster: Dad pleeeeease, I want to ummmm...go inthere.

Dad: No Foster, you won't fit, and there is nothing in there but pipes.

Andrew: FOSTER, there is a magical bunny and lots of neat things to look at.

Foster: Yeah Dad, I just fit my ummm... head and then ummmm... my foot and knee and then I in.

Dad: NO, don't listen to Andrew he is just teasing you. (to Andrew) dirty look, you better stop it.
Andrew: No really Foster there is a whole neat world in there with fairies.
Foster: Pleeeeeeease Dad Pleeeeeeease, I want to see the snow and bunny!!!!!
Dad: No it's time to go to bed everyone!
Everyone : crying and/or aaaaawwwwhh! etc...etc...etc
No more "Alice in Wonderland" for a while at our house or I might have to lock up the screw drivers!

Itty Bitty Treasure Hunt

Well mutual was a success last night. We had an Itty Bitty treasure hunt in the building. Can you guess where these pictures are at the church? Everyone had lots of fun and we finished off the night with "itty bitty" cakes. Most times we only see an "itty bitty" part of the picture but our loving Heavenly Father knows and sees the beginning from the end. If we ask Him for council and listen our lives can be the bigger picture it is supposed to be even when things don't make much sense to us.

Easter Dinner

So I am not sure why Ryan only took a picture of the kids table and not of everyone else but anyway we had a lovely Easter dinner. Ryan's cousin Brandon and wife Liz and their family came to visit all the Mesa Nelsons and we decided to visit too. The food was heavenly and I ate way too much. The kids matched up in ages and had fun running around the house and sliding down the stairs and then finished off the evening with a karaoke concert.

Cousins...Cousins..there were never such devoted cousins...

Pearl and Brooklyn in their Easter dresses.

Pearl just tolerates pictures but Brooklyn eats it up!

Easter Morning

Well the Easter Bunny learned something very important this year:
take note of where all the eggs are hidden!
Grandma's house had a wealth of hiding places and it took a good 30 minutes of searching until we found almost everything?!

Silly Pictures

Now before you see all these pictures, I have a few disclaimers that I would like to make.!
1.Ryan took all of these photos.
2. Some were so funny I couldn't help myself and I have to include in our book.
3.That said everyone has a silly picture, so it's fair. I didn't play favorites with anyone.

"I heard there were eggs, where's the party?"

"New Rule"
"OK everyone, this is how we are going to do this."

"I can't see you if you can't see me"
Grandma hearing bad new and Ryan being right there to capture it all.

Chad and Brooklyn chillin.

Lilly made a "little Chick" to find

Grandpa with his following...

I'm not sure what that was or is? Grandpa doing a dance?

Coloring Easter Eggs

This Easter weekend was spent in Mesa with Grandma and Grandpa Nelson and family.

We had a great time coloring Easter eggs on Saturday night so that the Easter Bunny could hide them for us and boy did he do a go job!
